What is an intention?
An intention is something you intend to do; a plan or aim for your day or life. I love setting an intention in both my day and yoga practice because it often brings me into self awareness. If I set the intention to be present, I can see where I have and have not been present previously. I don’t make this good or bad, I just become more aware.
One of my favorite intentions is to disconnect from technology. I don’t realize how often I aimlessly check my phone. It’s an automatic habit without a core drive behind it now. HELLO! whoa, right?
Some of the cards can be so fun and playful, some more serious. I believe that 98% of the time, you will pick what you truly need in that day.
Why set an intention?
If you start your morning off on the right foot, it’s always going to be a more positive and joyful day for you. By picking an intention card or even setting your own intention, you’re choosing how you want to feel. Through having a set feeling for the day you make the effort to be happy, eat well or be present instead of going into your day blindly with no real goal of how to want to feel. Obviously we all want to be happy and healthy, but it’s the little things we forget to think about that contribute to that (like taking a break from checking our phones every 5 minutes). This is why having intention cards is more impactful than always trying to set your own intention (which can become repetitive).
Final thoughts:
I truly just want people to enjoy these cards. I want you to have fun and share them with your friends. I love walking around a party or yoga studio asking people to pick a card. This helps in creating a connection with people and genuine conversation that steers away from the repetitive questions we ask when we see each other. I hope they brighten people’s days and make an impact on their thoughts and actions in a positive way. I honestly wish I could give them away for free and if I could, I would!
Here is a super duper article on Huffington Post about why setting an intention is great.
